Glen Shaw is the co-founder and CEO of Shaw Steel Services.  His expansive knowledge and experience along with his fearless commitment to lead by example has become the bedrock Shaw Steel is built on.  His steadfast leadership and entrepreneurialism has planted the seed for our growth and development.  Glen oversees all operations and aspects of the business,  supporting and nurturing his company's vision to reality.   His unwavering enthusiasm to always place our clients needs first has become the standard for our company's culture.

Glen's greatest reward has become his treasured relationship with his wife, best friend and business partner, Christine.  Father of two sons, he has found his purpose and been given his life's greatest gift.

Glen's dedication to his business is unmatched but finding time for a golf course, curling rink, social gatherings with friends, family or working around the house is what keeps his life grounded.  

Christine Shaw, unequivocally, is the tie wire which gives Shaw Steel its strength.  Tying together all aspects of the company, giving it shape, structure, purpose and a grounded perspective.   Christine is our CFO, although to submit she is a single entity to the company would be considerably erroneous to her contribution and merit.  Christine supports and strengthens every aspect of our company with unwavering love and enthusiasm, doing the unseen, thankless tasks tirelessly and without recall.  

Christine is a devout and warm hearted mother of two boys and a steadfast, supportive wife to her husband Glen.  Her true reward in life is carrying these duties as mother and wife, however beating Glen in the occasional golf game has its virtues.

Al Shaw, the patriarch of the family and the beginning of our story, continues to be an integral part of our company.  Al's fingerprint on the rebar world is difficult to rival however his unwavering devotion to the industry is why he's become our guiding light.   Al is a mentor, helping out in all aspects of the company at whatever capacity is called upon him.

After raising their 5 kids, Al and his wife Pat now devote their time to their 9 grandkids, energetic pups and making homemade wine.  During the summers they enjoy trips in the camper or out on the boat fishing.

Jeff Goodwin has worked for Shaw Steel since 2018.  Jeff has been in the construction industry since 1996, working for numerous general contractors.  Through this experience Jeff has honed his skills in logistics, planning and personnel management.  Jeff oversees the entire production process at Shaw Steel, from shipping/receiving to fabrication & yard activities, he is the heart beat of the company.

Jeff enjoys his time away from the business with his wife and children camping or traveling.  At times, he can be found searching through dense forest, or shallow lakes looking for his golf ball however you may spot him on his Harley cruising the open road, breeze blowing through his hair. 

Jackie Dalstra joined the team in 2021.  Jackie brings with her over 25 years of accounting experience, in both private and public sectors.  Jackie leverages this experience within our team, managing all accounting, data management and payroll needs.  She has been friends with the Shaw family for more than 18 years, making her career transition seamless.

Jackie has lived in Strathmore for more than 23 years.  She is a dedicated wife to her husband Trevor and mother to her 3 children and is currently navigating her new lifestyle as an empty nester.  Jackie spends much of her time running between Red Deer, Blackfalds, and Strathmore and volunteering with various community organizations.  If there is any time left, you will find her working on her many hobbies.  

Introducing Mohit, our dedicated Steel Detailer and Coordinator at Shaw Steel Services. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and having completed the Civil Engineering Technology course from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Mohit joined our team in the summer of 2023 and has since become a valuable asset to our projects. With a solid foundation of two years of prior experience as a Civil Engineer, Mohit brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. His passion for ensuring project success, coupled with a keen eye for detail, makes him an integral part of our dynamic team.

Beyond the professional realm, Mohit's interests extend into various hobbies that reflect his well-rounded personality. Having recently relocated to Canada, he embraces the opportunity to explore new places, infusing a spirit of adventure into both his personal and professional life. Mohit not only drives the success of our projects but also adds a dynamic and vibrant touch to our company culture. 

With a robust career spanning 30 years as an Ironworker, Chris Case has dedicated the past 26 years to honing his craft in Calgary. 

Currently, he is a General Foreman at Shaw Steel Install, where he leads the installation crew with a focus on excellence and safety.

Chris holds an Ironworker ticket from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Currently, he is expanding his expertise by pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Fredericton.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chris is passionate about sports, both as a coach and a player. He is a proud father of five, balancing his career and studies with his dedication to his family and community.
